The Power Of Prayer | Prayer Line

The true power and significance of prayer has been a long debated issue, with staunch opinions falling to extremes on both sides.  Still, to many, the power of prayer is undeniable. To those that have experienced its power first hand consider it to be astounding.  Our organization promotes prayer as a source of power for those praying and those being prayed for.

WHAT IS THE POWER OF PRAYER? The power of prayer is truly unlimited and unquantifiable, but here are a few consequences of prayer that we believe are truly remarkable…

CONNECTION: Prayer allows us to connect to the spiritual parts of ourselves and our Creator.  Within our  prayers we can block out the limitations of the physical world and submerge ourselves in communication with something much more powerful than anything known to our five senses.

HEALING: Much of our physical and mental ailments stem from poor spiritual health.  Prayer offers spiritual growth and healing. A critical part of healing our bodies and minds is healing our spirits.

LOVE: Prayer increases feelings of love, forgiveness and compassion.  Love is the foundation of everything that is of value and meaning in life.  Professing love for others, self and Creator during prayer uplifts the spirit and invites positivity in every area of life.

These positive effects of prayer are just a few of the reasons we promote prayer. Join us for “First Tuesdays” when we all connect together for healing prayer calls.  First Tuesday’s are a time for encouragement, spiritual support and prayer. From 6:00 – 6:30 p.m., the first Tuesday of every month, people are encouraged to join a group to pray for the well-being of children. 3 Benefits of Volunteering

Most of us already know that volunteering is usually beneficial to those who are on the receiving end of it. What many don’t realize is that volunteering has many positive benefits for the person doing the actual volunteering as well.  These benefits can include emotional health, physical strengthening and even career advancement.

Emotional Health:  Often contributing to the well being and advancement of others leads to numerous positive emotional benefits.  Many volunteers report increased self-esteem, reduction in negative or depressed feelings and/or and improved feelings of self-worth. All these are emotional goals that most people seek to attain and volunteering is a great way to do just that.

Physical Strength:  Volunteer opportunities often get us up and moving.  When we engage ourselves in the community around us, it activates our creativity, senses and body.  Whether it’s working with children, feeding the homeless or going on a mission trip the work required to help others does promote physical health and strength.

Career Advancement:  Many students or recent graduates actually start their professional careers by volunteering.  But those in the midst of a long term career can see professional benefits from volunteering as well. Volunteering looks great on a resume, shows you are concerned about the greater community and demonstrates unsolicited initiative and leadership.  By becoming a volunteer, it highlights you as a person of passion, integrity and character, all qualities most employers look for.

If you are interested in volunteering for Praying For Our Children, feel free to contact us. We offer various opportunities for you to become involved in helping to improve the world that we live in.  Even if you don’t volunteer for us, volunteer for something… It truly does a body good.
