Is There A Right Way To Pray? | Pray For Our Children

So is there really a right or wrong way to pray?  Is there something you have to say or do to make your prayers be heard?  Well, we tend to think not. When it comes to prayer, the most important elements have little to do with procedure and much more to do with belief and faith.  We recommend your prayers focus on the following:

FAITH: Having a deep rooted belief in the Higher Power you are praying to and immovable certainty that your prayers and being heard will make your prayers powerful.

SINCERITY: Do not pray for what you feel you “should” pray for or what others tell you to pray for. Pray from the heart with sincere intention.

LOVE: Root the essence of your prayer in love (love of self, others and the world as a whole).  Your prayers should never stand in contradiction to unconditional love.

Prayer does not have to necessarily be complicated or ritualistic. Pray in a way that suits you and your spiritual beliefs.  Embrace prayer as something you can do as often as you need, allowing it to protect and heal you at all times.  The power of prayer is truly remarkable and we encourage you to pray deeply and pray often, and of course, pray for our children.  We also invite you to join us for First Tuesdays, our monthly prayer call.

How To Get Your Child Interested In Prayer | Prayer Line

Prayer is so powerful. Many adults who have prayed steadfast for decades and witnessed firsthand the grace and healing power it has already understand the importance of daily prayer. Our children are another story though. They may not see the value of praying daily and centering themselves spiritually.  Here are a few things you can try to help your child become more interested in prayer.

PRAY WITH THEM: Whether your child will admit it or not, you are influential in their life and an example. Take the time to pray with them daily. You can keep the prayers short and sweet to start and introduce longer, more engaging prayers as their interest in prayer grows.

HAVE THEM WRITE THEIR OWN PRAYER: Encourage them to write a prayer of their own. Allow them the freedom to create it all on their own, in their own words. Then type up their prayer, frame it and place it prominently in your home.

BUY THEM A PRAYER BOOK:  Having a prayer book all their own can be helpful. They will have lots of prayers to choose from and can select their favorites.  Read some of the prayers with them and discuss the meaning of the prayers with your child.

DISCUSS YOUR PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WITH THE POWER OF PRAYER: Share your personal testimony with your child.  Tell them how prayer has changed your life and give specific examples.
Helping your child appreciate the power of prayer is a valuable gift.

Share, explore and be the example for your child. Prayer can be a healing and bonding experience that you and your child can share together.  You and your child can also join us for our monthly prayer call, First Tuesdays, that we have the 1st Tuesday of each month.

The Power Of Prayer | Prayer Line

The true power and significance of prayer has been a long debated issue, with staunch opinions falling to extremes on both sides.  Still, to many, the power of prayer is undeniable. To those that have experienced its power first hand consider it to be astounding.  Our organization promotes prayer as a source of power for those praying and those being prayed for.

WHAT IS THE POWER OF PRAYER? The power of prayer is truly unlimited and unquantifiable, but here are a few consequences of prayer that we believe are truly remarkable…

CONNECTION: Prayer allows us to connect to the spiritual parts of ourselves and our Creator.  Within our  prayers we can block out the limitations of the physical world and submerge ourselves in communication with something much more powerful than anything known to our five senses.

HEALING: Much of our physical and mental ailments stem from poor spiritual health.  Prayer offers spiritual growth and healing. A critical part of healing our bodies and minds is healing our spirits.

LOVE: Prayer increases feelings of love, forgiveness and compassion.  Love is the foundation of everything that is of value and meaning in life.  Professing love for others, self and Creator during prayer uplifts the spirit and invites positivity in every area of life.

These positive effects of prayer are just a few of the reasons we promote prayer. Join us for “First Tuesdays” when we all connect together for healing prayer calls.  First Tuesday’s are a time for encouragement, spiritual support and prayer. From 6:00 – 6:30 p.m., the first Tuesday of every month, people are encouraged to join a group to pray for the well-being of children.
